Dennis Vlasich has over forty years of technology experience in the public sector as customer, vendor, and management consultant.

Experience
IT DIRECTOR • CITY OF FONTANA • 2006 – 2016
Initially brought in as a consultant to fix an ERP disaster and an IT Department that had lost its credibility with both customers and management, transformed the department into an award winning resource for the city that produced cost saving results for most of the other departments.

PRINCIPLE/SENIOR CONSULTANT • KERRY CONSULTING GROUP • 1985 – 2006
Created a small management consulting firm that specialized in technology planning, acquisition, and management for the public sector. Noteworthy accomplishments include the following:

Municipalities – Major RFPs and Technology Plans for the following cities: El Segundo, CA (built IT Department from scratch) – Redondo Beach, CA, La Mesa, CA, Whittier, CA, San Rafael, CA, Petaluma, CA, Monrovia, CA, Burbank, CA, San Mateo, CA, and Watsonville, CA.

School Districts – RFPs and technology planning for student and financial systems: Milwaukee Public Schools, Dallas Public Schools, Utah State Department of Educations, Los Angeles County Office of Education, Chaffey Joint Union High School District, Ocean View School District, Huntington Beach High School District, Newark Unified School District, Jordan Unified School District (Sandy, UT), Janesville School District (WI), and Beaver Dam School District (WI).

Special Districts – Financial system RFP, organizational and strategic planning: Golden Gate Bridge Transportation District o Santa Margarita Water District, San Bernardino Water District, and Inland Empire Utilities Administration.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT • R.V. WEATHERFORD CO. • 1980 – 1985
Developed and marketed the first distributed student systems for school districts called Schoolware that was marketed across the country. Operated system support services for Los Angeles Unified School Districts for 144 distributed high school student information systems.

DP MANAGER • CLAREMONT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT • 1972 – 1980
Managed a computer service bureau serving eleven area school districts with student and financial systems as well as financial systems for the City of Claremont. Transitioned from a batch based IBM 1401 computer system to a DEC-20 timesharing system and the re-write of the financial system after the 1978 revision of the state accounting manual. Grew the customer base from 7 to 11 over the course of his employment.

DP MANAGER/PROGRAMMER • CIRAD • 1970 – 1972
Managed a small computer service bureau while attending graduate school at Claremont Graduate School. Provided accounting and billing systems for retail businesses in the area.

PROGRAMER • SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY MUNIICIPAL WATER DISTRICT • 1969 – 1970
Developed the agency’s first automated payroll system and performed a time and motion analysis on the recently implement automated billing system to show the beneficial results of automation.
